THE OMIUS TECHNOLOGY
When water or sweat evaporates from the surface of the skin it absorbs heat and cools the body.
Using thermally conductive and porous graphite, and a patented coating, the Omius technology increases the evaporative surface area of the skin by 5x. This amplifies the body's natural cooling mechanism and dramatically increases comfort and performance in hot conditions and during strenuous exercise.
TREAT WITH CARE
The cooling pieces are fragile and can chip or break from normal wear and tear. The most important thing you can do to maintain your Omius product is to always handle the cooling pieces with great care. Think of your headgear as a premium pair of sunglasses that you don’t want to scratch. Do not hit the cooling pieces on hard surfaces and always store in a safe place when not in use.
KEEP WET
The cooling power of the technology comes from the evaporation of the water in the cooling pieces. It is therefore critical that the cooling pieces are kept wet at all times while in use. Soak the material prior to usage and add water regularly throughout the session. Sweat alone will not be enough for maximum performance.
DON'T COVER
In order to get maximum performance from the cooling headgear you want to ensure maximum airflow. It is important that you never cover the cooling pieces as it will reduce airflow and risk damaging them. The required airflow comes naturally from walking, running or biking and when you are stationary, a fan can provide the airflow needed.
SKIN CONTACT
The technology evaporates water on the outer surfaces of the cooling pieces and then pulls the heat from the flat surface resting on the skin. Omius products are designed to keep the cooling pieces flat against the forehead to ensure maximum heat transfer. Be sure not to have hair between the skin and cooling pieces
CLEAN
It is important to regularly wash salts and other impurities off the pieces. GENTLY hand wash the headband and BACKSIDE ONLY of the cooling pieces using soft soap (dishwashing soap works great!). Soak in soapy water to get impurities off all surfaces. Rinse thoroughly to get rid of all the soap.
